The Clapping Has Stopped…..and now I'm sad...

Here’s the story…..Right across from where I live is a 4 story apt building. One of the patios is right across from my office/scraproom & my bedroom. For a while now there’s been this elderly man that comes out and claps for the squirrel. He claps really loud and the squirrels come running to him and the tosses them bread. The squirrel are on the roof of my apartment and he tosses the bread to them….sometimes he misses and the bread hit my window….It’s really quite funny. I see him from my office window every afternoon. I’ve thought it was the cutest thing.

Well, all of a sudden this guy starts calling the squirrel in the morning around 7:30 am. Ok, it’s the time I usually get up in the morning, so no big deal. Then it progressively gets earlier and earlier. When it got to 6:45 in the morning I about lost it! Did I mention he claps really loud!!!! So, I wasn’t going to say anything to him I just went to the manager of the building and asked him to please tell the guy not to clap in the morning. He’s been waking me up at 6:45am and it’s drivin’ me crazy. I told him I don’t mind if he does it in the afternoon, just not in the morning.

So, fast forward to the next morning… No CLAPPING!! YEAH….I was soooo happy! Bet then the afternoon came around and still no clapping…..Next few days, I saw him on his patio, but no clapping. I felt really bad. I didn’t want him to stop altogether, just not early in the morning!

That afternoon I called the manager again and I explained to him that I didn’t mind if he did it during the day, just not in the morning…It was so sad…I would look out the window at him on the patio and you can see he wanted to clap soooo bad….

Well, he was just out there a little wile ago and he was clapping…..All right with the world again!!!

Today's LO's

Today was all about my friend Capella!!! I took these pictures of her last week and I really wanted to scrap them.... Today was the Spring Fling crop! It was GREAT hangin' out with all the foxes, but I wasn't feelin' to well and I didn't get much done, but I'm happy with the 2 I did do!!! Thanks for lookin' and I hope you all like' em!
I removed one of my LO's. I'm entering the scrapbook.com contest. Not that I think I have a chance, but you can't win if you don't try, right! Well, the rules said.....Each layout must be a new upload to the Scrapbook.com Layout Gallery and may not be (or cannot have been) commercially displayed or submitted to any other layout gallery, contest, or publication at any time (for example, no layouts previously uploaded to Scrapbook.com or any other online gallery, or submitted to any contest, publisher, or design team application of any kind, are eligible) It said nothing about posting them on a "personal" blog. I just wanted to be safe, so I removed it....

Humming Birds & Dinner With The Family

Tonight I went to my parents place for dinner. While Mom was cooking I went out in the front patio and shot some pictures of the humming birds. There were about 4 or 5 of them zipping around my head! Those suckers are fast and they got pretty close to me!! It's amazing how fast their little wings beat. They were all fighting to get to the feeder.
Dinner was great as always. My Mom is the best cook. We had Cornish hens, fried eggplant & salad. Yummy!!!

The Hills Have Eyes

Ok, this movie was CRAZY!!! I went tonight with my friend Capella. She was the only one that wanted to see it. I love scary movies, and this was definitely SCARY!!! Crazy, crazy scary!!!

There was a preview for a new movie coming out called Silent Hill....That one looks CREAPY!!! I can't wait for it to come out!

Ok, I must go to sleep soon....Hopefully I won't have any nightmares!

Photography Class....

Tonight was our 3rd photography class.... It's a 3 hour class that meets every Monday night and it could be easily cut down to 2 hours. I'm learning stuff from the class, but the teacher is a bit SSSLLLLOOOWWW!!! The guy doesn't know how to work a computer....When he shows our images it takes forever!!!! He keep accidentally closing the window....he doesn't know how to browse through the images....come on dude....

The teacher told us to put 4 to 6 images on a CD for our assignments and there are people in the class that put 10 to 15 images and some of them have nothing to do with our assignments. Well, he goes through all of them.....even the ones that have nothing to do with our assignment!!! Argh..... come on people!!!

Ok, I'm done venting....LOL!

Foxes Helping Foxes

As some of you know, Capella & I were in a car accident a little over a week ago. Capella's car caught on fire and she lost her camera and Ipod in that fire. We all know as scrapbookers how important it is to have your camera. So, we put together the Foxes Helping Foxes fund to replace Capella's camera!

The pictures above are of Capella receiving the card I made her with a picture of the new camera that is on it way to her. We also had enough money to buy her a 1gig memory card for the camera!

She was soooo happy that she started to cry..... We love you Capella!!!

Foxy Croppers 3rd Anniversary dinner!

Today is the Foxy Croppers actually 3rd anniversary, but we celebrated in style at the NEW El Torito Grill in Sherman oaks this past Saturday!

The food was AMAZING, but hangin' out with the FOXE was even better! Everyone looked soooo stinkin' cute!!!

You probably can't tell form this picture that we are in SO. Cal.!!! Looking at us all bundled up in scarves and hats!! It was FREEZING that night!!!

Unfortunately, the group picture is a little blurry and as always, not everyone is in the picture!!! I just wish once, we could get a shot while everyone is there! We try to do it in the beginning, but someone is always late....We do it after dinner and someone always has to leave early...You can't win!

Also, everyone made cute name tags. We have a few new FOXES in the den and we wanted to make sure everyone knew who everyone was, so Bucket had the idea to make name tags. Everyone did such a great job....and they were soooo creative. I did mine at the last min, cause yes, I'm a procrastinator!!!

You can check out all the FOXY photos Here!

I'm so EXCITED!!!!!

Tonight is the Foxy Croppers 3rd anniversary party!!! We are having dinner at El Torito Grill in the Sherman Oaks Galleria and then a movie afterwards!!! I'm sooooo excited, cause when the Foxes get together there's nothin' but laughs! Also, I'm excited to meet some of the new Foxes I haven't yet!!!

One of the girls in the group, Bucket suggested we make name tags since we have quite a few new foxes in the den and not everyone has met in person yet. I haven't even started mine!!! I've got to get on the right now!!!

I can't believe it's been 3 years since the Foxy Croppers was started! We started the group with 5 girls and know we have 40!!! 40 fantastic FOXES that love to scrap!!!

I feel so lucky to have met such wonderful people through this hobby and I look forward to many more FOXY years to come.

I'm sure I will have tons of pictures to post tomorrow!!!

This Past Week in a Nut Shell....

1st I want to thank everyone for all the well wishes regarding the accident we were in last week. You all are supper sweet!

Ok, know to the fun stuff!!! Besides scrapbooking I LOVE photography, which most scrapbookers do. I started a photography class a week and a half ago and I'm already seeing a difference in my photographs!! I bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT last summer and haven't been using it to it's full potential! Now I feel like I'm getting my monies worth!

Last Sunday Araxi, Susy & I got together and went down to the Santa Monica Pier. Araxi & I have wanted to get together for a long time to do a photo shoot. I'm usually doing all the shooting so I never really get a chance to be on the other end of the lens. Araxi's style is very much like mine and I was really excited to have her photograph me!!! Araxi shot all the photos in RAW. She shot about 180 pictures and more then half of them came out GREAT!!! Thanks Araxi!!! You did a bang up job! Playing with the RAW images was so much fun! Here are some of my favorites Below.

Our exciting trip to the snow……

My friend Capella & I had planned to do this for two weeks. Capella, Susy & I were going to take their kids to play in the snow. Susy wasn’t able to make it so I told her I would love to still take them up there with Capella.

So, yesterday we got all our stuff together. Susy bought Nathan & Kaitlin new boots, hats & mittens for our little trip. I dug out all my stuff and packed it all up for the morning.

We all met in Burbank at Susy’s to pick up Nathan & Kaitlin and we were on the road a little after 9am!!! We had lots of rain yesterday, so we were really excited to play and take pictures in the fresh snow!!!

Now here’s where it all goes wrong……..We were about half way up the mountain. We just past the 3000” mark and we just started to see snow. Well, were coming around a turn and we hit a patch of ice! Car goes skidding…..SMASH, we hit the side of the mountain…..Smack, we hit it again……Now the car is in a spin!!! I felt like I was on the tea cup ride at Disneyland…It was all so unreal!!! Smack again, we hit the other side of the mountain and I smacked my head against the passenger side window!!! There the car stops on the opposite side of the road facing the opposite direction we were going!!!

OMG, OMG!! Are the kids OK!!! I was just afraid that someone was going to come down the mountain and not see the car and hit us. So we get the kids out of the car as fast as we can all the while people are running over to help us. We were very lucky that the ski patrol was coming up and they had a CB radio, cause no ones cell phones were working up there!!! The ski patrol guy radios the sheriffs department. Well the guy was telling us to get what we needed out of the car before it catches on fire! I was like, yeah right…then I look over at the hood of the car and there was the car with orange flames coming out from under the hood!!!! I jumped in the back of the car to get our stuff out cause I didn’t want the kids to freeze while we were waiting for the fire department! Oh, yeah…and my camera was back there too…. I’ve never moved that fast in my life!!!

I thought I got everything out, but I guess Capella’s camera went flying and she couldn’t get it out. She also lost her IPOD, which was in the center consol and she didn’t realize till the car was totally engulfed in flames.

Capella’s daughter Caitlyn F. and son Michael were both crying. Michael also hit his head and his glasses went flying off. We didn’t realize the glasses they were still in the car till it was too late. Kaitlin S. (8 years old) started to cry a little and her brother Nathan (4 ½ years old) says “Does this mean were not going to the snow?”…..LOL…Kids!! Caitlyn F. (7 years old) says to her mom “Dads going to kill you!”……Argh…

I felt so bad for her! It was her brand NEW 2005 Dodge Durango. The thing was barley 7 months old!!! She has full coverage on it, but still what a mess!

I’m just so thankful that everyone was ok. Just a few aches, but nothing serious!!! I would have killed myself if I had to call my best friend and tell her that her kids were hurt!!! I love these kids like they were my own! It was hard enough having to tell them what happened!

One funny thing happened….As the cars was totally engulfed in flames I remembered the paper work Susy & Phil gave me in case of an emergency and the kids medical info along with some money was also in the car. I put it on the floor next to the center consol. It was in an envelope. I was like, OK….That’s gone!!! After the firemen put out the fire he came over and asked who Toni was….There was the envelope with my name on it!!! In perfect condition, like it had a force field around it! It was a little damp, but not burned at all….How the hell does that happen!?!?
